Napa Valley Weddings – Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a wedding or elopement in Napa Valley is a dream come true for many couples, and we are here to make that dream effortless, elegant, and unforgettable.

From vineyard ceremonies to luxury winery celebrations, Napa Valley offers some of the most romantic and picturesque wedding venues in the world. Our team specializes in helping couples find the perfect setting and packages—whether you are planning an intimate elopement, a micro wedding, or a full-scale celebration with family and friends.

Below you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Napa Valley weddings, designed to guide you with clarity, confidence, and inspiration as you plan your special day.

1

What is your most popular elopement package?

Our most popular elopement package is the Winery Cave Elopement. This venue gives you exclusive use of the property, professional photography, champagne, and a celebrant. The package begins at $1,775 for the couple only and can be expanded to include up to 28 guests (total party of 30) for additional fees.

2

When is the best time to elope in Napa Valley?

Napa Valley tends to be most popular during grape harvest season (September–October). Keep in mind this is peak tourist season, so prices are higher. The vineyards are in full bloom from May through August, offering the most picturesque settings. For the best experience, we encourage couples to elopeMonday through Thursday—you’ll enjoy more venue options, greater privacy, fewer crowds, and a truly world-class wedding day experience.

3

What is your cheapest elopement package?

Our most cost-effective package is the Vineyard View Elopement, which includes your venue and a celebrant. The package begins at $400. You may add photography for an additional fee. If it is just the two of you, the cost of adding a witness is $75.

4

How far in advance should couples book their wedding in Napa Valley?

Popular venues often book up 12–18 months in advance, especially on weekends in peak season. Smaller weddings and elopements have more flexibility and can often be arranged in just a few weeks. If it is a simple elopement we can actually arrange for that within days as long as you have a wedding license from your county in California or have made appropriate arrangements to secure a wedding license in Napa.

5

What is the best time of year for a wedding in Napa Valley?

Spring (April–June) and fall (September–October) are the most popular times. Summer offers warm vineyard evenings, while winter provides quiet beauty and more affordable rates.

6

Are outdoor ceremony options available in Napa Valley?

Napa Valley’s climate allows for outdoor ceremonies year-round. Most venues also provide elegant indoor or tented spaces as a backup in case of rain or extreme heat.

7

What is the typical guest capacity for Napa Valley wedding venues?

Venues range from intimate gardens for just 2–20 guests to wineries and estates hosting 200+ guests. Most couples choose between 50–125 guests for the perfect blend of intimacy and celebration.

8

Do couples need a wedding planner or coordinator?

For larger weddings, a professional planner or coordinator is highly recommended to manage vendors and logistics. Napa Valley Weddings has in-house coordination for elopements and small weddings.

9

What do Napa Valley wedding packages include?

Packages often include the ceremony site, reception area, catering, wedding coordination, floral options, photography, DJ, and a personalized wedding ceremony.

10

Can couples bring their own wedding vendors?

Many venues allow outside vendors, but they must be licensed and insured. Some wineries and private estates require you to choose from their preferred vendor lists.

11

How much does a Napa Valley wedding cost?

Budgets vary widely. Elopements start around $400–$800, while full-scale luxury weddings can range from $40,000 to $100,000+. Napa Valley offers both affordable elegance and premium luxury.

12

What are the noise and curfew rules in Napa Valley?

Most venues require amplified music to end by 10 p.m. due to county ordinances. Some private estates or resorts may allow later celebrations with restrictions.

13

Are both religious and non-religious ceremonies available?

Napa Valley welcomes all traditions—from Christian or Jewish ceremonies to completely secular celebrations. Our officiants specialize in tailoring services to each couple’s wishes.

14

What are the most iconic photo opportunities in Napa Valley?

Popular backdrops include vineyard rows, historic wine caves, oak trees, rolling hills, and sunset vineyard views. Each location provides timeless images for your wedding album.

15

Is Napa Valley LGBTQ+ friendly for weddings?

Napa Valley warmly welcomes same-sex weddings. Many venues, officiants, and vendors are proudly LGBTQ+ affirming and experienced in creating meaningful celebrations.

16

Are children welcome at Napa Valley wedding venues?

Some wineries and estates are adult-only, while others are family-friendly. Always confirm policies directly with your venue.

17

Do Napa Valley wedding venues provide overnight accommodations?

Some estates and resorts offer overnight stays, while others partner with nearby luxury hotels and charming inns in Napa, Yountville, Calistoga and St. Helena.

18

Is transportation needed for Napa Valley weddings?

While many venues host both ceremony and reception onsite, others may require shuttles or car services. Ride-sharing options are limited in rural areas, so professional transportation is recommended.

19

Do Napa Valley weddings require event insurance?

Most venues require couples to purchase event liability insurance, which is affordable and easy to secure. This protects both the couple and the venue.

20

What attire works best for a Napa Valley wedding?

Semi-formal to formal attire is most common. Vineyard weddings often have a relaxed elegance, but comfortable shoes are recommended for walking on grass, gravel, or cobblestones.

21

How do Napa Valley weddings compare to Sonoma weddings?

Napa Valley is known for refined luxury and world-class wineries, while Sonoma leans more rustic and laid-back. Both are stunning, but Napa offers unmatched prestige and elegance.

22

How do Napa Valley weddings differ by season?

Spring brings vibrant blooms, summer offers golden light, fall features colorful harvest scenery, and winter is quiet, intimate, and more affordable. Each season carries unique charm.

23

What are the benefits of planning a weekday wedding in Napa Valley?

Weekday weddings (Monday–Thursday) offer more venue availability, lower costs, greater privacy, and a more relaxed atmosphere compared to weekend celebrations.
